T started coed flag football last Tuesday. I seriously couldn’t be more thrilled.
Don’t get me wrong. C and I enjoyed the T-ball season. A lot. We both played for years on various Little League teams so baseball will always be near and dear to both of us and hopefully it will be to T, too. However, if there’s one sport that I personally really REALLY enjoy watching it’s American football. And now I get to watch my very own son play twice-weekly (one practice, one game) for the next six or so weeks. Score!

The kids huddle up with Coach Chris to look over some basic plays. I’m serious! We all were cracking up a little though, I will admit.
T joined up again this season with the free sports’ leagues offered by Long Beach Parks and Recreation at the Wardlow Park and Rec Center location. We signed him up at the T-Ball banquet and crossed our fingers we might get Coach Chris again… and we did! We also were placed on the same team with a couple of the same kids from his T-ball team, too! Touchdown!
Today marks the second week of practice, and we are still waiting to hear when the games will begin. All we really know is they will be on Saturdays at Marina Vista Park (another of our favorites here in Long Beach!).

T trying to get the hang of putting on the flag. It is tricky because you can’t have it too loose or too tight.

Getting ready to scrimmage! T went in as “hiker” because of his beefy build (ha, not!). He loved it because he got to touch the ball on every play!
I’ll be back with more photos and updates once we have official kick-off later this month!
RMT’ers, what sports are your Kindergarteners participating in for the first time this season?
