T’s first day of 2nd Grade was Wednesday September 2. For the first time in the many years that I’ve kept this blog, I didn’t get a first day of school blog post up on his actual first day of school. I could go through all of the reasons as to why that happened (or didn’t as it were), but that’s totally boring, so nevermind. All that’s important is T re-started school a little over two weeks ago, he’s doing alright, and we are all still adjusting from what seemed to be the never-ending, most fantastic and best. summer. ever. to, well, not.
So enjoy the photos below of T’s last first day of 2nd Grade ever… or that’s the plan anyway!

Fast-forward to school and our obligatory traditional first day of school photo in front of the school’s marquee. We got there early to avoid the lines and crowds. Just sort-of kidding.

Now fast-forward to T’s classroom door, which was all decorated up and ready for eager 2nd graders! T was happy to find many friends in his class this year (whew!).

Parents were let into the classroom before the school day started for a quick look as the old bungalows (from the 1950s-!) had been demolished and replaced. You can see how quick our peek was based on the blurriness of this shot. Oops.

T at the end of his first day of 2nd Grade, holding the water bottle he “won” from a name raffle pull of some sort. Safe to say he had a pretty great day!

No school day is complete without a kickball game after school at “Coachie’s.” And the first day of school is no different apparently.
Happy New School Year, RMT’ers!
